One article after another lead me to this post at Abenk’s blog (Andra’s husband).
You two are still my favorite couple to direct! Especially since there were no direction needed, auto pose all the way ahahaha 😆
This little story made the song and video clip extra extra extra special for me. Made me happy to be a small part of this beautiful serendipity. Made me happy to be a part of this love story. This reminds me that in life, everything connects, and every cause has a reason. Everything and everyone IS connected! *mewek malem-malem*
Much love and miss each of you much ❤️❤️❤️ *peluk satu-satu*
More about Alacati,
This town is where the glamorous Turks spent their summer, thus the prices are pretty upscale and can sometimes be more expensive than Istanbul. Semacam Hamptons buat orang Turki gitu deh.
The crowd are uber stylish, and there are small boutiques selling upmarket brands all over the town. We were definitely underdressed in our tees and flip flops, akibat underestimating ahahaha 😆
As this town is mostly frequented by the locals and has yet to reach international recognition, we were the only Asians in town and we received curious glances. A family of Turks even stopped Aoura & Carline when they were at the beach club to take pictures with them. They even asked Aoura to take off his sunnies to show how “Asian” we are ahahahaha 😂😂😂 all in good humour tho
#KalkunTrip at Meyhane Şerefe – View on Path.
Mother Mary and Jesus next to Allah, seen at the Hagia Sophia (Great Wisdom). Such a layered and multi cultural history is what makes Istanbul a place like no other I’ve visited before.
First built in the fourth century by the Romans as a cathedral, it was turn into a mosque as a symbol of submission when Mehmet the Conqueror took over. Nowadays, it is functioning as a museum despite numerous protests from both side of the religions involved.
Daripada salah satu gak puas mending keduanya ga dapet yah, ini persis kayak keputusan nyokap jaman dulu saat me & my sis rebutan apapun ahahahaha 😆
As the cathedral was turned into a mosque almost in an instant manner, you could still see some traces of the Christianity all over the surface. On the ceilings you could see that there are classic Ottomans patterns painted over, vaguely camouflaging the Roman style crosses.
Also, beneath the painted walls, there are religious mozaics made of semi precious stones with breath taking details. Just look at the contouring on Mother Mary’s facial features. Centuries before Kim K popularized it 😁
The Holy Green
As said by Tim Blanks of Style.com, “The Cult of Craig is about to explode.” Or quoting the enthusiasm of Dazed Digital, saying that we should “bow down” to the new holy trinity of men’s fashion. Raf Simmons, Ricks Owens and Craig Green. And this is only Craig Green’s first season ever!
And yes, I’ve been converted into the Cult of Craig. I could wear none of these items and next to nobody might be able to identify the brand. But these clothes are so free from the notion of luxury, branding and revenue that the designs feels so genuine. Seeing these, I could feel the joy of “creating” that makes me excited to touch the garments, to see them move, to embrace fabric and scrutinize the details with glee.
Yes, I can be very emotional when it comes to clothes. I’ve been known to shed a tear or two whenever I came across original runway pieces by McQueen in his Bond Street boutique back when he’s still around.
These clothes also remind me of those hard working days as a fashion design student. When life was ALL about turning sketches into reality, when talking, sleeping and eating was less of a priority than sketching, draping, cutting and sewing. When life was dedicated to creativity and learning. Those energy came through these designs. These have a spontaneity that feels honest, a meticulousness that’s balanced, a sense of innovation that’s effortless.
The force is strong with this one 💙
